Vacation with my grandfather
For the last two weeks I’ve bin in Egypt with my grandfather. It was not only a bonding trip between me and my grandpa, but also very informative from a social point of view. Visiting the remains of an ancient high culture once again showed the power of religion and how self-absorbed people are. It also showed me once again that different realities are not comparable - we have found different ways to shape our society and our everyday lives on this planet and each approach works in its own way.

What is happening?
I've had a difficult few weeks. Lately I've been sad thinking about all the things that are happening in the world and I feel really weak in this backdrop of obviously sick processes. I've been trying to cheer myself up by playing pool with friends and seeing the 35 Years of the Fall of the Berlin Wall exhibition and visiting the Tiergarten.
Fall has arrived
And I arrived in Wuppertal for the weekend, before I visit Cologne. I spent time with the family and deinstalled my exhibition. One picture got stolen, which I see as a compliment. In cologne I visited one of my clients - Neumann Communication – to photograph their new employees and I also got to stroll around in Cologne for a bit and visit one of my best friends.
Color photos
The people that know me well, know that one of the big questions that I can’t figure out is, if I shoot color photos or black and white. I have my answers and try to decide but you know - the grass is always greener (or grey) on the other side. Anyway yesterday I looked a few color photos from this years summer that in my opinion are not allowed to be converted to black and white.
Continuing the project
So I was hiking the path of german unity again. I passed the former border to the DDR and started to hike the Rennsteig (a popular hiking path) until I noticed that my shoes were already damaged. So I decided to return to berlin until this problem is fixed. Here are a couple of stills, that suprised me on my hike.
Exhibition and Severin
After the Vernissage of “Wie ich schwebe” in Wuppertal, I went home to Berlin to finish some work and prepare fot the next stage of my hike across germany. A week later, I set off again. My friend Severin accompanied me for the first two days of the hike in the Sauerland with his bus, which we already made a couple trips with and as he happened to have to pick it up from the workshop in Berlin.
