Philipp Czampiel (b. 1995) is a documentary and portrait photographer born in Wuppertal, Germany and currently living in Berlin.

In his work, he explore sthe representation of his human experience in the physical world, exploring the intersection of people, society and habitat. Through intuitive documentation, he captures impressions and observations that he processes into thoughtful series of images. These series reflect his emotions, thoughts and views and arise from an intensive examination of places of subtle expressiveness as well as through inspiration from literature, visual media and exchanges with other people.

The creative process itself takes center stage. Engaging with a world that is at once beautiful, absurd and humorous becomes his form of appreciation - for life and for the people he shares it with. This process creates connection: to the world, to others and to himself. Not only looking at photographs, but also working directly with them gives him great pleasure and drives Philipp to make the seemingly banal yet meaningful details of life visible.
